Confession: I don’t like apples. But I LOVE dehydrated apples. Apples have the best Glucose to Fructose ratio of any fruit and it is really easy to make your own healthful and delicious organic dehydrated apples.
I bought a dehydrator from Amazon and I have been using it like crazy. So, start with Organic apples. I use 5 or 6 Organic Fuji apples from Whole Foods.
Peel and core the apples. I bought a handy little coring tool (pictured) at Richard’s Variety Store. Slice the apples into slices about 1/4 – 3/8 thick. I then sprinkle them with a little cinnamon, put them in the dehydrator at 135 degrees, and – presto – 4 hours later, when the apples are leathery, you are done.
Store in a nice glass jar until they are eaten – which is usually pretty quickly.
