We went there for lunch this week and ate from the buffet, which is all you can eat for $7.95.
I tried the Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken and Stewed Chicken, together with Red Beans and Rice and Creamed Spinach. All of the Chicken dishes were served bone-in and chopped into bite sized pieces.
The Jerk Chicken was spicy hot and delicious, while the Stewed and Curry Chicken had no heat but were equally tasty. The Red Beans and Rice were also very good, flavorful and not too salty. The Creamed Spinach was a little bland for me.
The staff was a real delight, explaining all of the food options and always staying smiley and happy. The dining area is small but adequate, with an outdoor seating area in the front of the re-done house.
It seemed like the restaurant was drawing a younger professional crowd for lunch. I am looking forward to revisiting Tassa soon and trying some of the menu items for dinner, especially the Caribbean Shrimp and Caribbean Fish.
As stated on the menu, they are served “Dhalporie of bust up shut,” with Curry Chick Peas and Potatoes. If you are looking for authentic Caribbean food in Atlanta, give Tassa a try. Tassa Caribbean 224 Powers Ferry Rd Marietta, GA 30067 770-977-3163
